The Burton Bont Festival Group

We are a not-for-profit community organisation based in Pontrhydyfen, dedicated to celebrating and preserving local heritage.

Though relatively new, we’ve delivered impactful infrastructure and cultural projects, including a Richard Burton mural, memorial benches, and a community-embroidered wall hanging—all now part of the extended Richard Burton Birthplace Trail.

Community Projects and Heritage Initiatives

Our work spans creative engagement and historical preservation.

Highlights include the children’s art competition Pontrhydyfen Through the Eyes of a Child, our Oral History and Digital Memories projects, and the Faces of the Fallen war memorial exhibition. These efforts are supported by NPTC and Heritage Lottery funding.

Sharing Our Story

Our bilingual volunteer team ensures Welsh language inclusion across media and outreach.

Thanks to their dedication, our work has been featured on BBC and Wales Online, helping us keep Pontrhydyfen’s heritage alive for future generations.
